INVITE FLORENCIA TO LEAD A COOKING WORKSHOP:  

  • ACTION Put action tips to save water with our food choices in practice immediately. Participants will understand at a deeper level why and how to eat less water. 
  • HANDS-ON-EXPERIENCE We remember when all the senses are engaged. This is an opportunity to involve the sense of taste, smell, and touch in a critical topic. 
  • ENGAGING Florencia regularly appears on television, radio, and podcasts. She has offered cooking demonstrations on both coasts. She makes the complex topics of agriculture, soil science, water footprint, and water scarcity into a message that is entertaining, accessible, and inspiring. Her passion for the subject is infectious. She not only speaks about eating less water; she lives the lifestyle daily.  

PAST WORKSHOPS INCLUDE:  

-The Business of Tamales- A six part workshop series that combined writing skills, such as writing a press release, blogging, composing and invitation to cooking skills. The mini-workshop culminated in a School-to-Fork Tamale Luncheon.  

-Cooking for Change-Three-hour workshop that included a book reading, presentation, tamale cooking workshop for groups as large as 60 participants.  

-Simple, Affordable, Sustainable Cooking for College Dorms- Tw0-hour workshop included a presentation, cooking demonstration, and taste testing of 5 simple recipes students could make in their dorms.
